A FREE dog microchipping event is coming to Goldthorpe next month.
Open to Goldthorpe residents only, owners can get their dog microchipped, vaccinated, treated against fleas and worms and given a neutering voucher - all completely free of charge
"I encourage Goldthorpe dog owners who haven’t already had their dog microchipped to attend the event," said Coun Roy Miller.
"It's free of charge and will give owners the peace of mind that if they did lose their dog, they could be contacted and reunited with it quickly.
"It's important to get dogs neutered to prevent unwanted puppies, which can lead to further stray dogs on the streets."
The event takes place on September 2 at the Dearne Playhouse, on Washington Road, between 11am and 2pm.
