POLICE searching for a man wanted in connection to a murder in Bridlington have focused their search on a patch of land near Cortonwood.
John Heald, 53, is wanted by the police after Bei Carter was murdered at a guest house on July 18. He is also wanted for a serious offence in Sheffield on July 13.
Following a joint appeal by police forces in South Yorkshire and Humberside, over 200 sightings of Heald have been reported, including at Wath, Mexborough and Rotherham, where Heald is from.
He is described as being 5ft 11in tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and short hair. His right ear is pierced and he has tattoos on his hands and arms.
DCI Matthew Baldwin, from Humberside Police, is leading the murder investigation.
He said: "We are working closely with South Yorkshire Police in the search for John Heald whilst at the same time actively pursuing the murder investigation.
“We have a team of dedicated officers who are working relentlessly to ensure all necessary enquiries are undertaken.
“The public should be reassured that no stone will be left unturned in the search for this man and collection of evidence in connection with the murder of Bei Carter."
A £5,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to his arrest.
