A BARNSLEY woman had 13 inches of her hair cut off to donate to young cancer patients.
Barnsley College’s Images salon played host to the charity chop as 31-year-old Helena Kelly, of Edward Street, Wombwell, donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust.
The charity makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Helena’s cut was done free of charge by former Barnsley College hairdressing student Lydia Garner, who now works in Images at the Old Mill Lane campus.
Helena said: "A friend of mine donated hair to the Little Princess Trust, which is a fantastic cause, so I thought I could help by donating my hair, too."
