THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm after a man was sighted with a gun in Barnsley.
South Yorkshire Police were called to Littleworth Lane in Barnsley at around 8.45pm on Tuesday night to reports that the public had spotted a man with a firearm.
Extensive searches were made in the surrounding area, using resources including the force's helicopter.
Three men, aged 19, 28 and 25, all from Barnsley, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and are currently being questioned by officers.
