THE date has been announced for Bobby Hassell's testimonial match.
However, fans will have to wait almost a year for the much talked about send-off as it will take place on May 4, 2015 - two days after the Reds finish their League One season.
The 34-year-old, who played 299 games for Barnsley over a ten-year period, will choose a 'legends' side to play against Wilson's current squad.
In an official statement, Hassell said: "We've been working hard for many months but unfortunately have been let down by opponents who had agreed to play only to then pull out.
"The club, throughout this time, has been brilliant with me and I would like to thank Patrick Cryne and the board for their support.
"I plan to put on a great day in May to show my appreciation to everyone, and I'd like to wish Danny Wilson and Barnsley Football Club all the best in the challenge to gain promotion back to the Championship."
