POLICE have appealed for information after a pensioner was left with serious injuries after an unprovoked assault in Goldthorpe.
At around 11pm on June 19, a 73-year-old man left the Horse and Groom pub and was hit from behind as he walked along Market Street.
The victim fell to the floor and suffered a serious neck injury as a result of the assault. No property was stolen.
The offender is described as a white man, in his 20s, with a slim face. He was wearing a three-quarter length, khaki-coloured army-style coat.
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact DC Peter Naivalurua on 101 quoting incident number 108 of June 20.
