"NATIONAL retailers" could be on their way to Hoyland town centre as part of its long-awaited redevelopment.
Developers Resilienti, who have been working on the plans for almost two years, says it would like to see some stages of the overall scheme completed before Christmas 2015 "to keep shoppers in the town once the new Tesco opens".
Resilienti development director Kerrie Whiteley said: "We are very close to finalising a development design.
"Resilienti has commitment from all its retail partners who are very keen to come to Hoyland and they're all hopeful the scheme will revitalise the shopping experience in the town."
She could not name the tenants at this stage but said they are "strong national retailers" who will offer goods not already available within the town along with a significant number of jobs.
