TEN fire engines and more than 60 firefighters tackled a large fire at the ASOS warehouse.

Firefighters were called to a blaze at the multi-storey Grimethorpe warehouse shortly before 10pm on Friday night.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue issued a statement at 7am saying the fire was out, with one fire engine remaining at the scene to ensure any remaining 'hot spots' do not reignite.

The warehouse was more than 60,000 square metres in size and contained up to 10 million boxes of packaging.

Several floors have been badly damaged by the fire, though fire crews worked hard to quickly bring the blaze under control.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will begin later.
