STAND-IN fire crews attended several incidents in Barnsley while firefighters staged a 24-hour protest.
Three people were treated for smoke inhalation after a bedroom fire on Michael Road, Lundwood at around 2.15pm on Thursday.
The contingency crew, wearing breathing apparatus, contained the blaze to the first floor of the property and treated a man, a woman and a young boy on the scene.
Crews also freed a woman who was trapped in a car following a crash in Flouch.
The firefighers removed the vehicle's roof to free the casualty, who was conscious and breathing. The aim ambulance also attended.
A second strike this month will take place on June 21.
