DANNY Wilson has signed his first player of the summer transfer window.
Goalkeeper Adam Davies, 21, came through the academy at Everton before moving to Sheffield Wednesday, where he worked under Barnsley's current goalkeeping coach Mark Crossley.
Davies is looking forward to starting pre-season at Oakwell and staking his claim between the sticks, having signed a two-year contract.
"I can't wait and get back to training and for the season to start," Adam said. "Mark is a really good coach and I'll be in good hands here.
"Hopefully this is the start of a new chapter for me at Barnsley.
"I've worked with some top goalkeepers in Tim Howard and Chris Kirkland who were very good with me.
"I'm not here to sit and watch, but I'm here to give Luke Steele a lot of competition over the season and play games."
