PEOPLE who have been taken to hospital following a fall can attend a new clinic designed to reduce the number of appointments and waiting times.
The One Stop Fall Clinic at Barnsley Hospital will open in June and will combine separate appointments with a consultant, nurse specialist and occupational therapist into a one 90-minute appointment.
Dr Simon Lee, consultant, said: “It is being introduced to make a patient's recovery as convenient and stress-free as possible.
"Rather than making numerous trips to the hospital, which can be especially difficult for older, less mobile patients, patients can have all their appointments at one time.”
Patients can be referred to the new service from their GP or from other wards or departments in the hospital.
