THE first ever Rainbow Run will take place in Locke Park on Sunday to raise money for Barnsley Hospital Charity.

The event will see live carnival performers and dancers and craft stalls set up with activities for all the family.

Some local musicians will also be performing during the untimed fun run where the participants will be dressed in white and will end up being covered from head to toe in rainbow paint.

Ryan Gains, fundraising volunteer at Barnsley Hospital Charity, said: “We want to bring a big family event to Barnsley for everyone to enjoy. Our charity raises vital funds for the local hospital, and this event is a great way to bring the community together whilst promoting healthy living.”

Tickets cost £15 per adult and £7.50 per child and can be purchased in advance via the website or on the day.
