A MAN who suffered life-threatening injuries in an unexplained incident is on the road to recovery.
Craig Howson, 33, had been unconscious in hospital since collapsing shortly after arriving at the home he shares with his parents in Monk Bretton on April 8.
Police believe he was injured as he walked along Rotherham Road from his sister's house on Grange Lane, Cundy Cross, at around 11pm.
Since then, extensive enquiries have taken place to discover how he sustained his facial and brain injuries.
Det Insp Jade Brice said: "No foul play has been identified as yet, although we have traced Craig's movements on CCTV and have pinpointed that he was injured between 11.01pm and 11.06pm.
"The prognosis is positive, he is stable and is breathing alone. We will be looking at conducting an interview with Craig when the time is right.
"I would like to thank the public for their help in this investigation. Their assistance could prove absolutely crucial to this enquiry and I would urge anyone with any information, however apparently insignificant, to still call us."
Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1276 of Tuesday, April 8 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
