POLICE believe a missing Barnsley man may be camping in the Dewsbury area.

James Stephenson, 40, has been missing for several weeks and the police have appealed to dog walkers, ramblers and joggers in the area to look out for him.

Timothy Fish, missing persons officer at South Yorkshire Police, said: "We're very concerned for James's welfare and, if he sees this appeal, I would urge him to get in touch by calling 101.

"He is in no trouble - we just want to confirm he is safe and well."

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Stephenson was on April 2 at a shop in Wakefield. Mr Stephenson has ginger-coloured hair and is approximately 5ft 8ins tall.

When last seen, he was wearing a dark overcoat with a grey hooded top underneath and jeans.
