A MAN who sustained life-threatening injuries in an alleged altercation in Barnsley over the weekend has died in hospital.
The 60-year-old was at Thurnscoe Coronation Working Men's Club in Stuart Street on March 30 when he was reportedly involved in an incident with a 53-year-old man.
He has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
A 38-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and perverting the course of justice and a 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both have been bailed while enquiries continue.
A post mortem examination is expected to take place on April 1 to establish the cause of death.
