MEMBERS of an exercise group which helps sufferers of Parkinson's Disease can now continue after it secured funding.

The Barnsley Parkinson’s Disease Community Exercise group, which runs weekly classes at Emmanuel Methodist Church, has received funding from the town's Clinical Commissioning Group to secure its immediate future.

The group aims to make it easier for people affected by Parkinson's to cope no matter the severity of their condition and is run by Bronia Warden, a qualified instructor.

Dr Nick Balac, GP and chair of the Barnsley CCG, said: "This is an excellent community initiative which focuses on improving the quality of life for the people in Barnsley."
