A BARNSLEY lad is doing things a little differently to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust - by growing his facial hair for a full year.

Billy Marsden, 18, of Jackson Street, Cudworth, wanted to raise money for the charity as a friend was diagnosed with cancer, but didn't fancy a long-distance run.

Instead, he shaved his facial hair off on January 1 and plans to go right through until New Year's Day of 2015 without shaving anything off.

"I've got past the itchy stage now," Billy said. "I've invested in a comb for it and I'm using oils to keep it shiny!"

Billy, who is uploading daily photo updates here, is barely a fifth of the way through but has already become quite fond of his work.
