A RAFT of road closures has been put in place for Prince Charles' Royal Visit to Barnsley next week.
On Tuesday (January 24) HRH will be visiting the Barnsley Chronicle, We Are Barnsley, the Dickie Bird statue by St Mary's Church, University Campus Barnsley and Wentworth Castle Gardens.
The council has announced several temporary road closures and traffic restrictions:
St Mary’s Gate will be closed from 7am
Church Lane will closed at the junction of Sadler Gate from 10am
Churchfield will be closed at the Sadler Gate end from 10am
Church Street will closed from the roundabout to Sadler Gate from 10am
Old Mill Lane will be closed from the junction with Church Street (no left-turn) upward from 10am
There will be no right-turn from Victoria Road from 10am
Huddersfield Road will be a left-turn only from 10am
Eastgate will be closed from 10am.
The intention is that all the above should be removed by 2pm to 2.30pm.
A spokesman said: "The council apologies for any inconvenience and delays the above activity may cause and will obviously aim to get everything back to normal as soon as possible."
