A MAN has sparked a Facebook frenzy by offering to deliver people's McDonald's orders.

Allan Stear, 33, of Cherry Tree Street, Elsecar, spotted that people craving fast food were often 'too hungover, had no transport or just couldn't be bothered' to get their own.

So he and his wife Nicola, 32, set up Al's MacD's Deliveries with Allan delivering orders on his scooter from 4pm.

He charges £4 and covers areas including Hoyland and Hoyland Common, Blacker Hill, Jump, Birdwell, Tankersley and Wath.

Nicola takes orders via Facebook and Allan picks up the burgers and pops them inside the insulated seat of his scooter.

He said: "We were trying to make a little extra money and we weren't sure if the idea would take off but friends told me to do it. We set the page up and were surprised at the response."

As he works alone, he's having to turn customers down but is looking at turning the venture into a full-scale business.

"It's not just McDonald's, either. I'll deliver anything people ask for," Allan added.
