DANNY Wilson has stressed he is 'hungry' to strengthen his side before the transfer deadline shuts on Friday night - as well as extending the loans of Brek Shea and Ryan McLaughlin.

Fans have urged the Reds' manager to recruit another striker in the hope of avoiding relegation.

"We're looking to bring more players in before the transfer window shuts," Wilson said. "Hopefully something will come of it.

"There's no panic, but there are still a few positions we’d like to get cover because it's going to be a really tough run-in for us."

Wilson has managed to wrap up a loan deal with Hull City for German striker Nick Proschwitz until the end of the season, but McLaughlin and Shea's deals were only for 28 days.

He added: "We’re trying to keep Brek and Ryan for longer, but we've not got anything concrete just yet. They’ve shown enough promise for us to want to extend their deals."
