THE Reds are 'close' to signing two new strikers.

It's been a busy January transfer window so far with three new signings and five departures.

Danny Wilson's side have had their survival chances boosted by highly-rated Liverpool loanee Ryan McLaughlin, Stoke City's USA international Brek Shea and winger Liam Lawrence.

Proven goalscorer Leroy Lita has been reported to have been targeted by the Oakwell club, but Wilson's keeping his cards close to his chest.

"The search is ongoing, but I’m hoping something drops this week," Wilson said.

"We're not 100 per cent on them yet but we're close to a few strikers."

Having got his first win since taking over the Reds for a second time, the manager takes his team to Ireland to face Dundalk in a friendly on Friday.

The long-awaited 2-0 victory against Blackpool on Saturday saw Chris O'Grady bag a brace, but fans still wish to see a new striker.
