THE Reds are set to unveil Liam Lawrence as their third new signing in the January transfer window.

The ex-Sunderland and Stoke City winger has been released from his two-year contract at Greek club PAOK.

He's expected to sign a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Manager Danny Wilson has already recruited Stoke City winger Brek Shea and highly-rated Liverpool youngster Ryan McLaughlin on loan deals.

Proven goalscorer Leroy Lita is another player who has been strongly linked with Barnsley, although the club face stiff competition for his signature.

Wilson said: "It's important that other players chip in to take the pressure off Chris O'Grady and we score more."

* The Reds' match at Wigan Athletic, scheduled for Saturday January 25, has been postponed.

The Lancashire club progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup after overcoming League One MK Dons at the second attempt, meaning the league clash at the DW Stadium has to be rearranged.

It will now take place on Tuesday February 18.
