EXTRA buses are being introduced on a busy bus service in Barnsley.

The additional morning peak buses are being launched on Stagecoach's service 32 which runs from Cudworth to Barnsley.

The change comes into effect from January 25 (Saturday) and is one of a number of alterations being made to the bus provider's services in Barnsley and the Dearne Valley.

Following customer feedback, on service 22X the Monday to Friday 6.10pm journey from Barnsley will be moved to 6.15pm and on Sundays the route will see minor timetable changes.

To improve reliability on service 12, the 5.20pm journey from Barnsley will leave five minutes later.

Minor changes to improve reliability have also been made to Saturday and Sunday timetables on service 66 and to service 228 between Wombwell and Wath.

Paul Lynch, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: "The changes we make to our network are always developed with the primary aim of improving services for the benefit of our passengers and based on feedback from customers.

"We're delighted to be introducing the extra buses on our route 32 to cater for increased passenger numbers and we hope that the other changes we're making will further improve the reliability of our buses in Barnsley and the Dearne Valley."
