A THREE year legal battle about some outbuildings developed in Cudworth without planning permission came to an end yesterday. Barnsley Council said action was taken at Cadwell Close, Cudworth on (December 14) to remove a number of structures after it successfully won a court order.

The council went in to the property to remove a stables extension, hardcore surfacing in front of stables extension, corrugated sheet fencing and a shed. Coun Roy Miller said: "The removal of these structures at Cadwell Close, which were constructed without planning permission, is something that Barnsley Council has been working for approximately three years. It has been an important issue for local residents and ward members. "In carrying out these necessary actions the council was fully compliant with the court order. "I would like to thank staff from highways, planning and regulatory services for their hard work, as well as our partners at South Yorkshire Police who provided support."
