BARNSLEY'S leisure operator has been shortlisted for yet another award.

This time it's the Metrodome, run by Barnsley Premier Leisure, that's made it into the third annual members' choice health club awards in partnership with Health Club Management.

The scheme measures the quality of facilities, customer service and value for money provided by clubs by asking members to rate them by completing an online questionnaire.

More than 40,000 members voted in this year's competition and the regional gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced at the end of next month.

Tim Wilson, BPL's chief executive said: "We're very proud of the level of service we provide all our customers and absolutely delighted to have made the shortlist for this prestigious award scheme."

The successful nominations have come thick and fast for BPL. Last year culminated with the Metrodome winning the local authority/leisure trust gym of the year at the 2012 National Fitness Awards and this year gained the Investors in People gold award.

Earlier this month the Metrodome was nominated for the leisure centre of the year beating off over a hundred other centres to become a finalist in the UK Activ and Matrix Flame Awards.
