A LIFE-long Barnsley fan has arranged a charity football match at Oakwell to raise money for Barnsley Hospice - and celebrate his 40th birthday in style.
Chris Foster will be playing a charity match on the Academy pitch at the away end (Grove Street) at 1.30pm on Saturday and wants to raise £1000.
He said: "I have long held the dream of playing on the pitch at Oakwell so phoned BFC to see if I could fulfill this ambition whilst I was still young enough. We couldn't use the main pitch, but they kindly allowed us to use the Academy pitch behind the away end - so I will have partly achieved my ambition of playing at Oakwell."
All are welcome to go and play in the game as long as you contribute a donation to the Hospice - supporters would also be welcome to help with bucket collections.
