A CLOTHING swap shop for stricken parents struggling to afford new items for their children takes place today.
Churches from around Barnsley have come together to organise 'Clothed With Compassion'.
The event gives people the opportunity to bring in items which have been outgrown and exchange them for bigger articles of clothing.
Alison Allen, who helped organise the swap shop, said: "Children grow out of their clothes very quickly and keeping up with buying new is increasingly challenging in the current economic climate.
"Many people are out of work, or on low incomes, and benefits are being cut or even stopped in some cases."
Refreshments will be available at the exchange, between 2pm and 6pm at Outreach Church, Wakefield Road, New Lodge.
