SOUTH Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a quad bike crash left a man with serious injuries in Barnsley on Thursday.

Police received reports that a man had fallen off a quad bike on Newland Road at just after 6pm.

The 25-year-old man from Staincross was travelling uphill on Newland Road from the direction of New Lodge Crescent when he sustained a broken leg after he came off the bike and it rolled on top of him.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward to help with the investigation.
