DEARNE MP John Healey has organised an advice surgery after an increase in the number of people contacting him for help following government cuts and changes.

Experts from Rotherham Council, the Department for Work and Pensions and Age UK will be offering free help and information about benefit cuts, appeals, housing benefit, bedroom tax, council tax, pensions, support for older people, getting a council house or moving, debt and legal claims.

Mr Healey and local councillors will speak to people about their concerns at Wath Library on Friday June 21 from 10am-12pm.

"Many more people are starting to come to me in need of my help because of the government’s cuts to benefits and local councils," he said.

"Unfortunately there are more to come, so I’ve organised this special coffee morning and advice session for people who are concerned about recent or forthcoming changes.

"Just come along, talk to local experts and get free help. No appointments are necessary and everyone is welcome."
