PUPILS at two Barnsley schools and students at Barnsley College have been issued a warning about three Asian men attempting to snatch young women.

Barnsley College and Horizon Community College told their students verbally, while Goldthorpe-based Dearne ALC sent a letter home with pupils which referred to 'attempts to snatch young women off the street' in the Barnsley area last week.

Parent Lisa Copponi, from Bolton, said her daughter brought home the letter which advised young women not to walk alone.

Paul Gallagher, co-principal at Horizon, said the information came in a police message which would have been sent to all schools.

A police spokesperson said no comment was available, as they could not find any information about the alleged incident.
