A LITTLE girl who had a stroke aged three is making the most of the summer by trying out her new wheels.
Mikka Walmsley, 5, from Cudworth, needs to use a wheelchair as she cannot walk as a result of the stroke.
But she can now enjoy the sunshine with a tailor-made tricycle she operates with her hands.
Thanks to fundraising efforts and businesses in Cudworth and the surrounding areas, more than £16,000 has been raised to buy the trike and other specialist equipment.
Mum Rachel, 28, said they're really grateful for the support and a they have also bought a disabled swing for Mikka which has been put up in the back garden.
"It's bliss to be able to take her out. Even when pushing her she likes it," she said.
