A MAN has been warned he is killing himself by drinking so heavily.
Craig Fellows, 43, was urged to understand the damage he was doing to his body.
Judge John Foster said at Barnsley Magistrates' Court: "You're drinking so much that it's tantamount to killing yourself. You have a problem with drink and dishonesty.
"You need to choose between a criminal career and curbing your drinking."
Julie Grant, prosecuting, said Fellows, of New Lodge, stole nine packs of gammon from a branch of Asda and drill bits from B&Q.
Fellows admitted two thefts. He was ordered to undergo six months of alcohol treatment and nine months of supervision.
He was also ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge, costs of £50 and £15 in compensation.
