The Metrodome water park is to be given a facelift under a new revamp scheme which starts on Monday.

The Metrodome is run by not-for-profit company Barnsley Premier Leisure who will be adding new slides and features that will be opening in February 2012.

From Monday (October 31) there will be phased closures of the leisure pool, slides and diving pool to allow for the development. The competition and toddler pool will be open as normal throughout.

Barnsley Premier Leisure borrowed £750,000 from the council earlier this year to improve the sites it manages on the council's behalf - the Metrodome Water Park will be given the biggest overhaul.
