TWO volunteers from Barnsley Independent Alzheimer's Dementia Support (BIADS) are ready to take part in their fundraising attempts.
Bob Woodcock and Amy-Kate Jukes are going to be taking part in their respective sponsored events in Dementia Awareness Week, which runs from May 19 until May 25, to raise money for local support for those people of Barnsley affected by dementia.
Bob, who already volunteers in BIADS charity shop in Royston, will set off on a sponsored motorcycle ride on Thursday May 23 at 10am from the Co-operative car park in Royston.
He will then ride from Barnsley to Lands End, Lands End to John O’Groats and back to Barnsley - covering a distance of over 2,000 miles.
Amy-Kate Jukes, whose grandad John Copping had dementia and was supported by BIADS, will be taking part in a half marathon in Edinburgh on Sunday May 26 in his memory.
