SCORES of locals will be sleeping rough on Friday night for an event at The Metrodome that's been organised to raise awareness of homelessness.

The Big Sleepout - run by children's charity Safe@Last - is being held on October 28 to give adults and children an idea of what it is like to sleep rough and people will be sleeping out on the car park.

A spokesman said: "One of the main aims of the event is to highlight what it is like for a child who has run away to sleep rough, therefore luxuries such as tents, camp beds are not permitted."

Safe@Last works across South Yorkshire, helping children and young people at risk of running away.
