CATHERINE Scoffin still lives in her own house and does most of her own cooking and cleaning - all at the age of 100.

Catherine also goes on to the bus into Barnsley a couple of times a month and does a bit of gardening, with a bit of help, putting her long life down to her Christian faith.

"It's a commitment to faith, and to the belief and values of church," she said.

Catherine, who lives in Royston, has been involved with Grimethorpe Pentecostal Church since its inception.

She celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday with a gathering of family and friends at Manor Court Community Centre in Royston.
