MONEY raised from a Christmas train on the Penistone train line has been donated to The Oliver Field Appeal.

The festive trip generated £1,000 and which has been donated to boost the toddler's charity campaign.

Two-year-old Oliver suffers from neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, and his family, including grandmother Catherine Bottom, of Dodworth, are attempting to raise £250,000 to pursue treatment options abroad.

Penistone Line Partnership, which organises the annual charter, said they were delighted to have raised funds for such a worthy cause.
