A TEENAGER left the driver of a single-decker bus and its passengers shaken when he shattered its windscreen, Barnsley Magistrates' Court was told.

Connor Luke Dokic, 18, threw a wheelie bin at the bus which had slowed to 15mph on Midland Road, Royston, said Anne Wroe, prosecuting.

She said the driver could have lost control and run over Dokic or others.

"Mr Dokic picked up the bin, swung it around and threw it onto the windscreen of the bus. The windscreen shattered and the driver and passengers were shocked - but it could have been a different story."

Philip Howard, defending, said Dokic, of Station Road, Royston was angry after being hit in the mouth by his brother.

He said Dokic acted recklessly and did not intend to damage the bus.

Dokic admitted criminal damage and his case was adjourned until April 25 for a pre-sentence report.

He was granted unconditional bail.
