FIREMEN had to leave a derelict bungalow amid fears the roof would collapse at a fire last Saturday.

Crews from Barnsley and Cudworth were called at about 1.30pm and arrived when the empty building on Weetshaw Lane, Cudworth, was well alight.

They entered the property with breathing apparatus but were forced to fight the blaze from outside.

They spent two hours at the site and the bungalow was significantly damaged.

A fire service spokesman said it was started deliberately.
