HAVE you got a Nissan, Mazda, Toyota or a Honda? If so, your vehicle could be part of a recall.

Japan's top four car manufacturers are recalling a total of 3.4 million cars worldwide over a defect in passenger airbags.

Toyota is recalling 76,000 UK-bought vehicles, Honda is calling back 15,400 and Nissan said almost 60,000 UK-sold models were involved.

UK models affected include Toyota's Corolla and Yaris, Honda's Civic, CRV and FRV, and Nissan's X-Trail, Patrol, Almera, and Navara.

The faulty cars were sold from 2000 to 2004, and all four carmakers have said that they will replace the defective parts for free.

The manufacturers said they're going to contact all potentially affected owners over the next 30 days.
