MORE than £3,000 was raised at a charity karaoke concert in memory of a child with Down's Syndrome who died aged seven months.

The second 'Stars in Their Eyes' karaoke fundraiser took place at Locky's Bar last Thursday in memory of Freddie Exley, from Wombwell, who died on January 17.

All 200 tickets were sold for the night, held in the club section of the bar, but the partition separating it from the pub section was opened to accommodate a further 50 people paying on the door.

"It was an absolutely fantastic night," said landlord Arthur O'Loughlin. "We all had 'RIP Freddie' t-shirts and all the money is going to the Down's Syndrome Association."
