A VALUABLE point at promotion-chasing Crystal Palace saw the Reds keep their head above the relegation zone on Saturday - despite pre-match confusion.
The Reds' away kit was deemed to clash with the home side's strip, so Barnsley ended up playing in Crystal Palace's away jerseys.
''There was a bit of a stand-off before the game as I didn't want my players to not have the Barnsley badge, something they play for every day,'' said Barnsley manager David Flitcroft.
''The club had done everything it could before the game to make sure we had this situation right. We spoke to referees in the week and made sure they were happy with the kit and then we got here at 1.30pm and it was all change.''
A stale 0-0 draw left both sides in the same place in the Championship table as they started the day - with Palace in fourth and Barnsley sitting 20th.
The Reds have now got 48 points - the same total they reached last season. They didn't manage a shot on goal and had to defend almost constantly but the point could prove crucial in the relegation fight.
