A BUS driver has been congratulated for heroically pulling a man from underneath a bus and saving his life.
Stephen Barry was travelling on the number 29 Stagecoach bus last month when driver Philip Day stopped near Cundy Cross at about 5.50pm.
The man - believed to be in his 20s - fell between the curb and the bus and Philip pulled him from under the stationary vehicle and helped him to his feet.
Stephen said: "He deserves a badge as big as a dustbin lid. If he hadn't have seen him he would've been dead."
