FEBRUARY saw South Yorkshire Police's Shaun Wright announce the 2013 Commissioner Grant Scheme, and the first round of funding has been allocated.
Applications were sought from non-profit voluntary and community organisations to apply for grants from £10,000 to £50,000 to help towards their projects.
Barnsley-based Phoenix, an organisation which provides a service for people with health issues and substance misuse, has been successful in its bid."
It was a very difficult task evaluating all the bids," said Mr Wright. "The funding was allocated in a way we believe to be fair and supports the organisations that make a real difference and make South Yorkshire a safer place."
Later rounds of funding will be available, and you are encouraged to apply. For more information, click here.
