A FORMER Barnsley College A-Level media student has secured a place on the renowned British Film Institute’s residential programme.
Ben Squires, 19, from Dodworth, was one of just 54 of the nation’s most promising young filmmakers to take part in the 11-day masterclass programme where film-makers share experiences and showcase examples of their work.
On the final day, all participants travelled to London for the screening of their finished short films.
Ben’s tutor, Simon Casken, said: “It's extremely prestigious to be given a place on the BFI's residential programme and I cannot think of a more deserving student.”
Ben added: “It was an amazing experience to meet so many other people as passionate and dedicated to film making as I am.”
