POLICE in Penistone will continue to monitor parked cars following a series of complaints of vehicles obstructing footpaths.
Drivers caught blocking pavements will be given a ticket for obstruction and receive a £30 fine.
PC Nichola Garbett, from Penistone police station, said paths must allow for a person with a double pushchair to pass safely.
"We've had numerous complaints recently regarding the parking of cars in the Penistone area and also outside the primary schools," said PC Garbett.
"We've had people in mobility scooters and people with pushchairs having to go onto the road to get past parked cars because there isn't enough room for them to pass," she added.
