A MAPPLEWELL student is running the fearsome London Marathon on behalf of the Red Cross.
Rebecca Ellis-Hood, who studies at the University of Huddersfield, is tackling the 26.2 mile course - and it's her very first marathon attempt.
"I'm coming to the end of university and really wanted to challenge myself," said the 21-year-old. "I chose the charity as they help everyone. A lot of the support they provide is for unpredictable events that cause sudden impact. They provide immediate support."
Rebecca's training's been going well, but due to an old foot injury she's been advised to go easier on her gruelling schedule.
"Even if I have to walk the marathon, I'll still cross the finish line," added Rebecca.
