A MAN from Monk Bretton is to run the London Marathon - dressed as a traffic light.
Dan Ellis, 26, works in Barnsley Council's highways department and is running to raise £500 for the Pippa Jones Trust. He works alongside Andy Jones, husband of trust founder Louise Jones.
Louise, from Gawber, founded the organisation in 2010 after her daughter Pippa died from a brain tumour. The trust provides activity bags for children and teenagers who have cancer.
Dan started running in 2011 when he did the Barnsley 10k in 53 minutes, also for the trust.
"When I got the letter saying I had been accepted into the marathon I couldn't believe it," he said. "It's a dream come true but admittedly, to do it dressed as a traffic light is pure madness."
