MEET little fighter Miley who was found in very poor condition and isn’t completely out of danger yet.
She is the latest arrival at Royston Animal Welfare – and helpers are out looking for possible siblings as a couple of other kittens were spotted.
Miley has been with the charity’s Nikki Jane for a couple of days now and Nikki said: “Miley has now been with me a couple of days .. she is in very poor condition, she was found alone, starving, covered in fleas and ticks and dehydrated.
“She's a little better, now hydrated... gaining weight very slowly and clean from fleas and ticks which were literally killing her.
“She's about four to five weeks judging by her teeth but the weight and size of a two to three-week-old max.
“She has a long way to go and isn't completely out of danger but she's a little fighter. – baby steps.”
Royston Animal Welfare was founded in 1997 and has been rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats in Barnsley and the surrounding area for over 25 years.
On their website they say: “The success of Royston Animal Welfare depends on our Barnsley based team of volunteers who give their time with no reward, other than being safe in the knowledge that they have helped to give an animal a better life.
“We rescue and rehome the animals you will see on our website thanks to all the people who fundraise, run our small charity shop, do the many vets runs, dog walks, animal fostering, telephone messages, accounts, newsletters etc.
“We would also like to thank the public that donates and companies that sponsor Royston Animal Welfare.”
