POLICE are appealing for information after a 24-year-old man suffered serious injuries after his car was involved in a collision on Saturday February 23.

At approximately 1.25pm an orange Kia Picanto, driven by a 24-year-old man from Barnsley is believed to have been travelling towards Darton on the A627 Huddersfield Road, Haigh, Barnsley - outside Highwood Farm.

The Kia is believed to have took a left hand bend on the crest of a hill and then reportedly left the carriageway to the offside - colliding with a stone wall and a gate post.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, where he is currently being treated.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or can provide information as to the manner of driving before the collision are urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 598 of 23 February, 2013.
